Trophy permits

The export process can only begin once all the required paperwork accompanies the collected trophies. Missing or incomplete documents delay permit applications — and that delay sits outside our control.

Export permit application process

Once we receive all the necessary supporting documents from the outfitter, and you confirm all listed species and trophy components, our team promptly proceeds with the export permit applications. These permits are submitted to the relevant authorities in your destination country to ensure a smooth and compliant export.

Why signed originals matter

Recent regulatory changes make it mandatory to submit the original hunting permit with your original signature. If any permit or document is not signed correctly, it must be couriered back to you for signature and returned before we can proceed — a significant and avoidable delay to your export readiness.

By ensuring all documentation is complete and correctly signed from the start, we can keep the export process seamless.

Required documentation

Depending on the species and the province where the hunt took place, the following may be required on arrival:

  • A completed and signed PH register — the South African Professional Hunter Register and Trophy Export Application, signed by you, the professional hunter and the outfitter.
  • A valid hunting permit — signed by you, for the species harvested.
  • A CITES import permit — for any species listed under CITES Appendix I, when applicable.
  • A Nature Conservation exemption permit or CAE certificate — the Certificate of Adequate Enclosure.
  • Transfer of hunting rights — if the hunt occurred on land not owned by the outfitter.
  • A TOPS hunting permit — for TOPS-listed species, signed by you where required.

Not sure what applies to your hunt? Send us your species list and the province, and we’ll tell you exactly which documents we need.
